About ‘the Saw Lady’ Metal Art

about Cindy Chinn - the Saw Lady

Hi, My name is Cindy Chinn and I create metal art, based on saws and other scrap metal!

After moving to rural Nebraska, I found that there was a real need for artwork that complimented the local community.

I was tired of seeing homes in my area filled with decor that didn’t reflect who we were. I am surrounded by hardworking people who cherish authenticity—yet the home decor industry seemed focused on sleek, modern designs that just didn’t fit their lifestyle.

I wanted to create something that felt real, something that celebrated the lifestyle I loved—the rugged, raw beauty of rural living.

It hit me when I was working in my shop, welding metal one day. I saw the potential in these raw materials—they could tell the story of the land, the work, and the people. I realized that if I could capture that in metal, I could create something unique for others who longed for that same connection.

I decided to sketch out my ideas, pulling inspiration from the rural lifestyle. With metal as my medium and rustic themes like ranching and farming as my focus, I began crafting pieces that felt like home to me. It wasn’t about following trends—it was about creating timeless designs that spoke to a deeper truth.

It wasn’t easy at first. People thought mass-produced decor was ‘good enough,’ and I had to show them the value of authentic, handcrafted work. But I knew that once they experienced the difference, they’d feel that connection too.

When people started seeing my work, they understood immediately. It wasn’t just decor—it was a way to bring a piece of the rural lifestyle into their homes. Now, I’ve seen my pieces hanging in homes across the country, each one representing the spirit of the land and the people who work it.”

Now, I see people light up when they find a piece that speaks to them. I’ve transformed my passion into a business, but more importantly, I’ve given others a way to express their identity through art that feels like home.

“Be part of the movement that honors rural traditions and crafts. Let’s keep the spirit of the land alive, one wall at a time.”

I have now expanded my metal art line to the “Contemporary Series” – click here to learn more!
