Here are some quick answers to some of the common questions people ask me. If you would like to contact me, email is usually the best way – Cindy@theSawLady.com
Yes! Starting in May 2021, there were dozens and dozens of websites and Facebook pages that had stolen my images and posted as “for sale”. I have no connection with any of them. These are “scammer sites” based in China who will send a very inferior product (if they send anything at all), like a new 12″ CNC saw for example.
All my saws are sourced from auctions, flea markets, etc and are classic, full sized handsaws with a history of building! Each saw design is then hand drawn, and then cut by hand using a plasma torch and a very steady hand.
To verify that you are on the right website, you can view the “Whois” data for theSawLady.com domain and see that it is based in Nebraska since 2015. I sell my work on my website, Etsy and and Amazon Handmade under my accounts only.
All of my saws are cut by hand using a plasma torch. I’ve been told I have a steady hand.
I ship my saws around the world. I love to hear from people across the globe who are interested in my work. Shipping outside of the USA ranges from $40 to $60.
Yes! I have people send me their ‘family’ saws that Dad or Grandpa used. You can mail them to me for standard designs or custom work.
On average, saws ship about a month from when they are ordered. I try to leave room in my schedule to accommodate some rush orders, but between October and Christmas, I get very busy – so please check first.
Yes – you can add either a short name or initials up to 4 characters (or a brand) for $20 to any saw, or add a longer name (up to 13 characters) on horizontal designs for $40. If you need something longer, please check with me first.
I spend a lot of time at flea markets and estate sales to hunt down my saws. I’ve shipped over 3000 saws, so I need to keep finding them! 😀 I also have a number of people who hunt them down for me as well.
The average handsaw is 24-29 inches long and about 6 inches tall. They can be hung with two nails – one on the handle end, and the other for the hole I put at the end of the saw blade. Vertical Saws can be hung using a hook I’ve welded to the back of the saw.
Yes, I do a LOT of custom saws. I can make changes to standard designs or come up with something completely unique to tell your story! Here are some samples. I can work from photos you send or just general ideas. I have over 40 years of design experience to draw on.
Yes – I work in a lot of different media, from painting to glass to wood carving and many in between. I am also internationally known for my pencil lead carvings. Visit CindyChinn.com to view my full portfolio.
