FAQ – the Saw Lady

Do you take custom orders?

Yes. I can create custom themes, name signs, ranch brands, silhouettes, and fully personalized scenes.
I can also make any custom scrap metal art piece you can imagine!

Can I send you my own to use?

Yes!  I have worked on many 'Family Saws' that add a nice personal touch to the piece.  You will need to deliver or ship the saw(s) to me in Nebraska.

Can I request a specific saw style or handle?

Not usually. Most old saws used in the Vintage and Heritage Series are unique, and I use a wide range of shapes, handles, and patinas.
Contemporary saws are consistent with the images shown.

How long do custom pieces take?

Up to 30 days, as custom pieces require additional time. The timeline depends on the design complexity, but I will keep you updated throughout the process. If you need something by a particular date, I will let you know if I can accommodate that timeline.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Heritage and Contemporary Series: Ship in 1 to 2 business days.
Vintage Series: Takes up to 30 days, since each piece is cut by hand and is dependent upon my studio schedule. (but check with me if you need it by a certain date, and I should be able to accommodate you).

How much is shipping?

Most orders include free USA shipping. Large saws or special orders may have added shipping fees.

How do the saws ship?

All pieces are packaged securely and shipped from my Nebraska studio, typically via UPS.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I usually ship via UPS. Please be advised that added taxes, tariffs, and other charges may apply. I cannot predict or pre-charge for these.

What is your return policy?

If you have an issue, contact me and I will work with you to make it right. Custom orders with names, etc, are not subject to return unless I made an error.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept major credit cards, PayPal, WooPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay on select items.

Are your custom designs protected?

Yes. All artwork is original and protected by registered trademark and copyright. Beware of sites selling unauthorized copies.

How do I hang the saw?

Most saws can be hung using nails or screws. Some blades already have natural holes that work perfectly for display.

Can these be displayed outdoors?

Indoor display is recommended. While sealed, antique steel can weather outdoors over time.

How do I clean the saw?

Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid cleaners or oils, as they can affect the finish.

Where are these made?

Every piece is handcrafted in my studios in Chester, Nebraska.

How long have you been creating saw art?

I’ve been creating original metal and saw art for over 10 years and have shipped thousands of pieces throughout the USA and around the world. I also make unique scrap-metal art that has gotten me worldwide recognition.

Do you sign your work?

Yes - each piece has my signature!

Can I request a specific patina level?

Not on most items, but if you are having a custom piece made, I can try to accommodate you.

Do you offer bulk or corporate gifts?

Yes - please refer to this page for more information.

Will my saw stand on a shelf, or does it need to be hung?

Most can be easily hung with a nail in the 'handle-hole' and another near the end of the blade.

Do you restock sold-out designs?

Yes - in most cases, I will have new inventory in my Contemporary Series within 3 to 4 weeks.

Can I preview my custom design before it’s made?

I don't generally do 'mockups' or previews of custom work. Things can change in the shop once I get working on a design. If you need a preview for approval (corporate?), I can make one at an additional charge. Most people trust my 45 years of design experience.

Do you accept returns?

Yes! If you are not happy with the product, I will take it back. I’ll pay for return shipping (send you a label) and refund you when I receive the item back.
If the product is defective in any way, I will exchange it if I can. I will send you a return label and ship the replacement when I see that the original is on its way back.
If you changed your mind, I will take it back, but ask that you pay for return shipping (your option), and I will refund you when I receive the item.
